Nexus is a new company, and that is exactly why we are selective. We are always looking for the best established small businesses, companies with long histories, proper licensing and insurance, and customers who vouch for them, to deliver federal facility-service work with us.
Who we’re looking for
- A long track record. Years of steady work in your trade, ideally five or more, with commercial or institutional customers.
- Proper licensing. Every license your trade requires, such as an NJ Home Improvement Contractor registration or an NJDEP pesticide applicator license.
- Insurance. General liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation, with a certificate available on request.
- Good references. Customers who will speak to your reliability and quality, and a clean complaint history.
- Crews and equipment. Enough trained staff and equipment to cover a multi-building site on schedule.
- Safety and access. A safety program, and crews who can pass background checks for base access.
Federal experience is welcome but not required. Being a small business, ideally registered on SAM.gov, helps us team efficiently under set-aside rules.

Nexus is the point of contact for the contracting officer, and handles submittals, reporting, base-access coordination and invoicing.

A clear written teaming agreement or subcontract, with a defined scope, schedule and payment terms, before any bid goes in.
